Pure comedy compared to its Rom-com hybrid genre is enjoyed by 27% more than Rom-com at a lower figure of comedy's 64% with Rom-com's 37%

Another genre under these conditions is romantic comedy, with the figure for females under 35 being 61% and males under 35 being 16%. However the amount of females under 35 for people who enjoy romantic comedies is smaller than the ones who enjoy pure comedies showing this may be an area to avoid in our chosen target audience.

Comedy once again is at the top with 31% of people having it as their favorite, this is a big demographic opportunity as comedy covers more than a quarter of the market for films compared with its next competitor the thriller/suspense genre being 26%, this and comedy make half the film market and since are very different it is easy for the audience to chose which one they want more and comedy being more preferred, means they will more likely pick comedy over the thriller/suspense.

Peoples social class is most likely to be C2, it is liked by this the most, this consists of skilled workers i.e. plumbers. Comedy is popular with people with or without kids and so will target both.

the rest of the films include things such as Wedding Crashers, There's Something About Mary, Scary Movie and Knocked Up, these films do not seem to have any production correlations to investigate.
The questions we asked Consisted of , in summery, what genres do you like, why and what makes them different to other in terms of what you wanna see.
other questions being what do you not wanna see, what would make you not wanna see our film.
This was done to accumulate what attracts and repels people, knowing this are opening must meet there wants and repel the dislikes, it gave us an idea of what these people want to see and since people did like comedy and have seen comedy films it helps reinforce our choice or target audience with primary data i.e. our interview. the main points raised is that comedy is seen to be a hybrid genre, so special points in consideration to make the comedy movie unique. As a result another movie option was considered which was a hybrid genre however after researching box office statistics we decided it was not a very good idea. the collective psycho-graphics discovered where things like people like smarter comedies where whit and comebacks are essential or just back and forth banter in opposition to the laurel and Hardy style comedies.
This is our pitch to the class supporting two different ideas on our two minute opening scene. Our opening film idea one was where some lads wake up from being on a night out and the next morning, have done outrageous things shown in the clip adding enigma to the opening scenes. Idea two was simply where a female of young age i.e. 16 - 18 moves into a house with 4 other guys and each one has to try resist the famed 'bro-code' in order to keep the peace but can hold out from the inciting excitement of this young girl.
The theme of our film idea is a polymorph of themes including friendship, romance, and about how to treat friend irrespective of love life and the other way round.
Our idea of actors are ourselves and are other people who we know who support the role of who we envision to en-capture what we want to see in our film opening. the locations will have to be one of our houses for the most limited time required to move onto locations that exactly reflect the character involved in the scene reinforcing the mise-en-scene, props will be regulated similarly to this.
The target audience for our film after much consideration will be openly active to anyone enforced by the multiple personalities to represent the almost ubiquitous enjoyment of comedy however our main focus will be females under 35 as these appear to be the people who favor comedy the most.
The enigma in the opening scene is things like, who is going to get this girl, what is the girls background?
At the moment no technical aspects have been thought of in relation to this opening scene however things that fit with the generic conventions of opening scenes and comedic opening scenes have been discussed and an establishing shot of a house where she is moving too in order to connote who the people are who live in the house or to show the dichotomy of the house exterior VS interior.
Our USP for the movie is the film idea itself as it is presented as a side theme in some series programs however the idea has never been encapsulated and shoved into a movie and shown in this manner and so after revamping it becomes our own idea.
The feedback we got contained a dislike for idea one as it was done many times before and that it will be too hard to originate it, however people did respond to the idea two as it sounded original and straightforward with a smaller amount of enigma so maybe less attention grabbing but in response to the TA interview it is a comedy that although is not out there it is people grabbing as it puts out a "good feeling".
